HYC: Senior Stars (Grades 6*,7,8,9,10,11,12)
*Grade 6 students have the choice to work with the Juniors for an additional year- or they may apply to the Senior Stars. We leave the choice up to you.
Senior Stars is our oldest and most advanced age group. This group will train for a total of 24 weeks in voice, movement, dance, acting and emotional connection. Their work will culminate in a final professional-level production that will be ticketed to schools and the public at the end of the HYC season. These students will be challenged to express themselves through their art and dive deeper into the thoughts, decisions and makeup of their characters. The Senior Stars will work together as a company to choose their show for the season and audition early in the term to give the most time for deeper connections as well as a higher-quality production. Seniors will have specific workshop days and will also be our go-to students for outside opportunities that arise.

*Grade 6 students have the choice to work with the Juniors for an additional year- or they may apply to the Senior Stars. We leave the choice up to you.
*Advanced Grade 5 students interested in a bigger challenge may request to audition for Senior Stars.
Our Junior Stars program will focus on one full-length Main Stage production. Students will audition on their first day and will be cast in the show before the second class. All students will be given a role that is appropriate to their age, experience, audition and comfortability. We work to challenge students and give them a place to shine in many different aspects. Watching them grow in whatever role they are given and have a sense of accomplishment when they get to present a high-quality production to their family and peers.
Students will be trained in voice, acting and dance as they rehearse over their 18 week session.

HYC : Little Stars (JK,SK & Gr. 1)
Our Little Stars will focus their short season on producing a festive Christmas Concert for family and friends. This NEW age group is to allow our younger students to test out the stage, work on voice, projection and stage presence without the overwhelming nature of a full-length show or the larger group setting. We hope this will allow younger students a chance to self-express and see if the stage is a place they want to be! Our Christmas show will focus on holiday favourites as well as a “short and sweet” story-line written to the groups age and abilities.
Tuesdays : 4:00pm - 5:00pm
(12 week Program beginning September 19th)
SHOW:
Saturday December 16th at 1pm
Simply fill out the form below and we will send you a series of online invoices that will break up the cost over 4 payments.

About H.Y.C
The HUB Youth Company combines performance education with quality productions.
Our Elite Youth company welcomes select members from grades K-12 to be a part of our seasonal theatre company that works to produce competitive and professional youth performers who have the skills and abilities to confidently perform on and off the stage.
Each week our age groups work to build essential performance skills in voice, acting and dance before culminating their learnings in a final professional Musical Production with their fellow company members. Each H.Y.C age group will train at their designated times, producing quality productions with their class to present to the public and local schools.
The company is broken into three age groups this year and shows/showcases are chosen to challenge each group appropriately.
Who May Apply?
All ages and abilities are welcome to register for our HUB Youth Company. Keeping in mind,we ask that only serious students apply due to the nature of the program and quick pace of rehearsals. Students who are dedicated to at-home rehearsal, having a positive in-class attitude, and commitment to whatever role they are given will thrive in this environment. For students who do not show positivity, dedication and effort, a 3-strike policy will be implemented, and thus students may be asked to leave the program.
That said, we continue to dedicate ourselves to working with students from where THEY are, and we help them build the skills and confidence they need to perform both on and off stage. That means we are looking for passion, effort and growth - not experience or talent.
2023-24 Season
In order to give students the dedication and time it takes to produce the high-quality productions we strive for, we have opted to focus our 2023/2024 season on ONE mainstage show for each age group. This allows for more in-depth conversations and training around characterization, text, music and dance. We look forward to enhancing our final product as well as the experience of our students with this more streamlined approach to training.

Auditions
Auditions are not required for acceptance into the HUB Youth Company.
Our Little Stars will NOT have to audition for their Christmas Concert as we will give any speaking roles based on volunteers and in-class work.
Junior and Senior members WILL be required to audition for their "Main Stage Show" to receive their casting.
This year, auditions happen in front of our artistic Director Amy Bridle, Educational Director Emma Grimstead as well as a selection of industry professionals.
Roles will be offered based on dedication, preparedness and role suitability. Past attitudes, behaviours and work ethic will also be considered in the casting process.
We will continue this open feedback and dialogue throughout the year and make note of students who are going above and beyond, despite their roles, to be used in future castings with both future HYC shows and potential invites to HUB community productions/opportunities.
