COVID-19 UPDATES

JUNE 4th, 2020

INFO

The Government of Ontario has release a specific guideline for the reopening of Summer DAY camps which we are eager to abide to and bring you all a summer of fun, creativity and expression.... though it may look slightly different.

HUB has been hard at work preparing for theatre camps that abide by the rules and regulations put in place by the government and as always, we are dedicated to the health and safety of our campers and staff.
HUB Summer theatre camps WILL run as planned, but with camper caps in place, designated instruction areas with cohorts of 8 or less as well as a professionally edited digital copy of the show rather than a live production.

Because of the unique nature of our camps, we feel especially prepared and ready to meet the health and safety requirements and give campers the chance to safely step on stage this summer.

We cannot thank you enough for your continued support, and compliance with our ever-changing guidelines!

It is our goal to ensure the health and safety of all of our students, staff and their families.

We take all of the recommended health and safety guidelines very seriously, and strive to provide an engaging, exciting and safe environment for all of our students.

HUB SPECIFIC PRECAUTIONS

The following is HUB's implemented protocols and procedures, they include but are not limited to:
  •  Diligent cleaning of all areas.
  •  New pickup/ drop off procedures including  designate drop off zone and times.
  • Diligent screening.
  • Frequent mandatory hand washing for all campers and staff.
  • Physical distance on-stage "places" for campers ( each performer will have their own dance spot which is something we do in our choreography naturally).
  • Visual cues and information in all theatre areas
  • Staggered lunchtimes and outdoor play.
  • Virtual staff/parent communication.
  • Camps will be limited to numbers that allow for social distancing on stage and in theatre space.
  • Staff will have individual masks at their disposal for any close necessary camper contact (injury or accident).
  • Cohort designated props with diligent cleaning between use.
  • Individual costumes, washed and not shared
  • Mandatory personal items such as sunscreen, hats, snacks and water (no sharing).
  • Staggered bathroom breaks.
  • Singing majority done outdoors.
  • Daily screening procedures and records kept.
  • Symptom monitoring.
COVID-19 SESSION MODIFICATIONS - WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN RETURNING TO HUB!

  • Drop off and pick up will happen at the FRONT of the Rene M. Caisse Building via the loading door. Students/guardians who are late will have to call or text to alert drop off and to be met by staff.
  • Students arriving at the theatre will be screened, including temperature recording, symptom questionnaire.
  • The occurrence of LIVE shows will be decided depending on ever-changing provincial guidelines and with discussions with the theatre. We hope to have VERY limited seating for immediate family only. That said, all students will go home with a professional digital copy of their show to watch at home with family and friends- plus the potential for live streaming, especially to schools and classrooms.
  • Students will be required to maintain a distance whenever they are not within their designated rehearsal space and will not be able to share clothing, toys, food ect.
  • Classes will be kept to a limited 40% capacity number to allow for physical distancing on stage and in the theatre.
  •  Students will be asked to wear their mask until in place on stage at their designated "Rehearsal position".
  •  During rehearsal times, students will be given their dance spaces (marked on stage) that are 2 meters apart from their fellow cast members.
