FAQ
What ages do you take at camp?
Good question! HUB Productions Summer Day Camps are 'Specialized Performing Arts Day Programs' for youth AGES 5-16. The daily schedule is custom tailored for each age group. All campers are involved in the performance on Friday in some capacity. Younger campers will have more outdoor adventures, crafts, activities, and nutrition breaks, while older or more theatrically advanced campers will be more focused on mounting our incredible shows.
My child is nervous and doesn't want to audition, what do I do?
Not a problem at all! We truly believe in supporting the child in this process and only having them do the elements of theatre that they are excited about. Sometimes this mean reminding them that they do not HAVE to audition, they can simply tell us their name and say hello and we can work on getting them on stage after that. Every child gets a part in our Open Shows and our Camps with or without an audition. So there is no pressure. Usually by the end of the process they are more confident and eager to jump on stage - but we let them get there on their own and with positive encouragement.
What does my child need to prepare for their audition?
IF your child is wanting a speaking role or a lead they will need to prepare a line or two from their favourite show, movie, story or poem! We often will have scripts available before their audition so that they can even go through and pick a line from the show they are auditioning for! They may also prepare a short (30sec-1min) song of their choice! It does not have to be from the show. Our staff is always ready and eager to help get them through this process and understand how nerve racking it can be!
