Hub Productions is proud to introduce a relaxed performance to their showcase line up.
The theater going experience should be inclusive and welcoming for all. We hope that by adding a relaxed performance to this spring's show THE LION KING, that anyone who may benefit from a less structured show-going experience will feel welcome and comfortable in attending this sure-to-be wonderful show.
A relaxed performance is intended specifically to be sensitive to and accepting of audience members who may benefit from a more relaxed environment, including( but not limited to) those with autistic spectrum conditions, anyone with sensory and communication disorders or learning disabled people. This means that there is a more casual-than-usual approach to front-of-house etiquette and we ask audience members to be aware of peoples needs to move or make involuntary noise. Familiarization visits for those for whom new venues can cause anxiety are available under arrangement by contacting (705) 205-3495.
These shows are for anyone. Families should fee welcome to bring members living with dementia, and we encourage anyone who wishes to discuss their requirements further to contact us.
Relaxed performances will have the house lights left on low to allow for movement and exiting the theatre at anytime. Harsh sound and light cues will be adapted to be less shocking/upsetting to those sensitive to light and sound.
